Tales of Arise is the next game in the series and if its development wasn’t hampered by Covid, it would have been released in 2020. Unfortunately, and for compelling reasons, even news announcements were delayed. When Namco Bandai shares new information with us, they are often vague or a different take on the same info. However, finally, we have new details! The latest news was a trailer for Tales of Arise in the Tales of Festival Trailer. It shows a bit more of the game’s story and the motivations of our protagonist Alphen, who wants to free Dahna from their oppressors. Alongside him is Shionne, a woman who gives our protagonist a magical sword, but she is needed to unlock the weapon’s full power. You can check out the trailer below: According to the TGS 2019 trailer, the sword damages its user just by wielding it, but Shionne mends Alphen with healing artes. Soon after, they describe Alphen as someone numb to pain and Shionne as someone who causes pain at the mere touch. Certainly a predestined duo. Check out the trailer with this information below: Here’s a description of what we can expect from this new Tales Of chapter: Tales of Arise combat retains the action style of the other games in the series, but it is unclear whether it will be the iconic LMBS (Linear Motion Battle System), or whether they will take on the mantle of a full-fledged action-RPG like Ys. According to the trailers, the combat looks seamless and more fluid than previous versions. But this is just speculation and we will have to wait until Spring for more information. Our tale begins with two people, born on different worlds, each looking to change their fate and create a new future. Featuring a new cast of characters, updated combat, and classic Tales of gameplay mechanics, experience the next chapter in the world-famous Tale of series, Tales of Arise.
